Welcome to Border Ecosse Car Club. BECC were founded in the early 70s by a few car enthusiasts who had one thing in common – a passion for motor sport. Since then Border Ecosse Car Club have become a well supported club with over 150 members stretching as far as York. We are very pleased that our Junior membership is ever growing.

Border Ecosse This was hardly surprising considering Formula 1 Champion Jim Clark and Britain’s most successful long distance rally driver Andrew Cowan were both from the Duns area. Since then the Border Ecosse Car Club has had Mike Horne partnered by Monty Pearson winning the Scottish Rally Championship in 1994.

Each year Border Ecosse Car Club organises and promotes the Charterhall Stages and Co-Promote the Jim Clark Memorial Rally. Other events we organise are The Sam Leitch Memorial Autocross, normally held near Sprouston, Kelso. As well as many Auto Tests, Scatter / Navigational events and family days out.

With many Scottish Rally Champions rallying under the BECC banner It is no wonder that the Border Ecosse Car Club has stage rallying at the forefront of its activities and that the Borders Rally Championship continues to go from strength to strength since its inauguration in 1996.

Border Ecosse Car Club’s Autocross Championship is very popular in the Borders and Northumberland and this form of motor sport can be fairly inexpensive. With the Autocross age now being reduced to 14 years, there is many more young competitors using this form of motorsport as an entry level before making the switch to Rallying.
